We believe that every child deserves to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically whether they are in the classroom or online. That belief has motivated us to offer learning options that will support a child’s education – regardless of location, school, or grade.
Improving educational outcomes
Our tutoring program offers educational support for students (K-12, college-level and adults) who may be struggling or need advancement in a particular subject. This option provides 1:1 live interactive lessons, scheduled on a session-by-session basis, which may be delivered in-person or remotely by a certified instructor.
We are uniquely equipped to provide multisensory lessons to build literacy, math, written expression and study skills. Our team is expertly trained in the science of reading. They are able to instruct students using evidence-based programs and methods to most efficiently teach their students. Our tutors are knowledgeable about the most effective multisensory techniques that enable students to read, write, and study more efficiently. Additionally, they are required to maintain certification in various structured literacy programs in order to ensure fidelity to the prescribed programs.
Helping Students Explore and Define Academic Goals.
Does your child need more assistance beyond tutoring? Robinowitz Center Advising may be a great route to choose. Advising offers 1 hour of educational, online tutoring on a set schedule of Monday – Thursday. Plus, students receive executive functioning support to help with what can be an overwhelming schedule for students participating in online learning.
Academic advising is an important process that helps students take charge of their academic goals. Our dedicated advisors assist students with all aspects of their learning experience.
We are dedicated to assisting our students in the academic program planning process and empowering them to make the most of their time, putting them on a path to success.
Our Zoom video one-on-one advising sessions and interactions make advising more meaningful for our students. Additionally, students place more importance on the supportive and caring nature of their relationship with their advisor.
Participation in academic advising has been shown to increase student satisfaction and mitigate students’ feelings of isolation or disconnection from the institution as a whole, which is important during these unprecedented times.
Reaching Further To Teach Students To Become More Effective Learners.
We understand that parents are feeling overwhelmed, too. With the Robinowitz Coaching option, your students will receive all the benefits of our Advising option, but with support for parents, as well! An extra hour of tutoring for students and weekly student progress reports to parents are just a few of the opportunities Coaching offers.
Robinowitz Coaching helps students organize and manage assignments while also building long term executive functioning skills.
Our coaches work individually with students, assess their strengths and needs, and devise a personalized plan of action.
The goal of Robinowitz Center Coaching is to promote a student’s self-efficacy and confidence during their time. Coaching can be provided year round, including in the summer! Students typically meet with an academic coach for 1 hour per day, in order to test out new techniques provided by the coach and to report back on the success of such techniques.
Our Coaches have excellent oral and written communication skills, are trained in evidence-based strategies to facilitate each session and work to empower the student towards positive behavior change.
