Professional Development

Extensive research supports that the most important factor contributing to a student’s success in school is the quality of the teacher and the amount of research and knowledge they possess about the subjects they teach.

The Robinowitz Education Center is nationally recognized for its expertise. The RIISE series of professional learning modules has been recognized by the New Jersey Department of Education (RAPID modules)! Our workshops are proven to provide educators, administrators, and parents with current research about language, literacy, assessment, executive function, and math for students who have learning differences. Through in-person and remote training, participants learn about the current educational research and how to translate that into evidence-based instruction. 

We work directly with public and private schools to develop instructional expertise that is individualized to their needs.

ACT On It: Data-Based Decision Making

Once you have adopted a Universal Screener, how do you leverage the results to make meaningful changes in your students' literacy skills? For too many educators, the data is collected, but not acted upon. It is important to understand the "why" of each measure in a screener, "how" to use each benchmark to set goals for students identified as 'at risk,' and "what" the intervention should look like.

Wilson Reading System® (WRS®)

Based on more than three decades of data, WRS® is designed for students in grades 2–12 and adults with word-level deficits who are not making sufficient progress through their current intervention. This Tier 3 Structured Literacy program is based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles.

Research-Informed Instruction for Success and Equity

The Research-Informed Instruction for Success and Equity (RIISE) workshop series provides educators with the most up-to-date research on the evidence that informs effective literacy instruction. Each workshop translates current research into practice and includes hands-on activities for participants.

Wilson Fundations®

Fundations® is a research-based program, aligned with the science of reading, for K-3 teachers in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 settings. Utilizing multisensory techniques, the program allows teachers to provide effective instructional practices in structured reading, spelling, and handwriting.

ABC's of Early Childhood Assessments

Early identification leads to early intervention, which in turn mitigates the development of achievement gaps. This workshop helps participants navigate the many assessment options and learn the importance of screening for literacy and language deficiencies in the early elementary years.

Ms of Math: Metacognition, Morphology, & Mastery

Learn how to bridge reading instruction into your math class by providing targeted fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension instruction.

Wilson Just Words®

Just Words® is a highly explicit, multisensory decoding and spelling program for students in grades 4–12 who have mild to moderate gaps in their decoding and spelling proficiency but do not require intensive intervention.
